Two weeks is all it takes

To go from ignorant bliss to knowing pain

From held together to fallen apart

From married to separated

 

Two weeks is all it takes

To go from fragile trust to shattered faith

From deep honour to lost respect

From lovers to estranged

 

Two weeks is all it takes

To go from warm embrace to cold rejection

From being in love to being a fool

From touched to deprived

 

Two weeks is all it takes

To go from nostalgic past to feared future

From steady state to churning change

From one path to two

 

Two weeks is all it takes

To go from shining hope to shadowed despair

From cruel endings to aching beginnings

From together to alone

 

Two weeks is all it takes

To go from mountain top to rock bottom

From clear vision to everything blurred

From us to you and I

 

Two weeks is all it takes

To go from lifelong partner to uncertain friend

From always there to fading presence

From here to gone
