Dare Not

Dare not read between the lines

For fear that I've misread

Dare not make assumptions

For fear that I'm misled

Dare not talk direct

For fear that I'm turned down

For fear that I might lose

The treasure that I've found

And yet if I don't dare

How would my loss compare

To what I might well gain

If my courage were sustained?
