Janet Musto: I just love your website!  I am doing a short trip to India end of October to attend an international conference of Lady Amateur Radio Operators from all over the world and was looking for a poem to present at the cultural evening.  I came across your poem, I Know A Place In Africa and it is just stunning!  I would really like your permission to recite it as it truly describes my love for South Africa.  The words of the poem bring alive the many beautiful and unique qualities of this wonderful continent that I am blessed to be born of.  I am hoping to host such a conference in South Africa in the year 2010 and I believe that the words of your poem will touch the hearts of all present as it has touched mine. If you are interested in purchasing a print from the electronic scan of anything I’ve done, I’m sure we could come to some arrangement.]

I will be participating in Miss Africa Leeds Pageant and as my talent I will be presenting one of your poems ' Swahili Spice' I may not present it as well as your right them but I will do my best. Johann Beukes: I found the link to your website from another blog who posted your poem, "I am an African". I would like to request permission to include it in a post on my blog. I pose a question on my blog about being a White African American, and I think your poem really sums up how I feel about the quesion I pose. You describe my feelings much better than I can.

Grace Halpin: I am a South African in New York and have been here for 5 years. Found your site thru some browsing and I am so glad I did! Your writings and work is phenomenal. During one of these moments I was surfing the web, and came across your site, and your poem, I Know A Place In Africa.  It captured everything that I feel for my country and brought tears to my eyes. It is so beautiful and I would love to share this with my Chinese students and fellow teachers, and would like to know if it would be possible to publish this on my site, obviously including your name and copyright symbol and a link back to your site. By the way, this was not the only poem which I thought was truly wonderful - you have a wonderful gift. [WV: Thank you and by all means share the poem].

Kimberly: Though I visit your web page often, I never tire of reading your poetry or seeing your paintings. Such talent that spans different media is so rare these days.  However, I have been most interested in your sketches lately.  The one of Bobby in particular.  You never cease to amaze me, and please never do!

Valerie: Love your poetry - it's my kind of poetry, not slushy, sentimental, but thoughtful, philosophical, observational, meaningful. Disappointed that - as far as I can see - you haven't published any poetry books. Realise this can be difficult as most books of this nature are self-published which isn't an easy option. That's all I wanted to say really and keep up the good work with your poetry.

Elizabeth Savage: I came across your writing on Dignity…..just too beautifully written. Dignity and integrity is something very close to my heart and I try live by ... Well done, most impressive work.

I would like to get your permission to use it on the announcement with acknowledgement. [WV: I am honoured and you are most welcome to use the poem]

Shivay Badasie: I am in year 8 in a high school in Sydney. I have chosen your poem called Friends to recite and analyse for my poetry assessment. Is there any information that you can share with me on what inspired you to write this poem? I think your poetry is excellent. [WV: I wrote this poem at a difficult time in my life (I had recently got divorced). This made me realise three things: a) That life is full of uncertainty, and change can happen very quickly; b) When times are tough, it is our friends that we turn to; and c) We choose our friends and we have to work on our relationships, since even close friendships can end. So the poem is basically about the value of friendship. One of the things I was trying to say in the poem is that friendship can cross all kinds of boundaries - like age, distance, race and time. Our friends are one the most precious gifts we have in this life, and we should cherish them.]

Jenny: You know, the more i look at that sketch of the cam the more I like it - I printed it out and have it in front of me, and it's so calm - i love the way you got the willow and the water. Great movement, i can almost hear the water trickling past and the splash of a perch jumping to catch a mayfly.
