Colleen B: Had a quick squizz at your quotes on your website.  I didn't get through all of them....but of the ones I read I thought this one was very funny: Moon - The moon is reflective, feminine, nocturnal, mysterious, bewitching and .. most importantly .. made of cheese! I know Wallace and Grommit would tell you it's not very nice cheese, though. ;-) And this one was very beautiful: Touch - Only when touched do we truly come to our senses.

Ralph Ertner: I stumbled over your poem and would like to print it on our webpage with quoting your origin: www.myplaceinafrica.co.za. Please let me know, if this is possible! [WV: You are most welcome]

Michael Riccoili: Your updated site looks really great! Sending the link to all my new students.

Lucia Candu: After getting in touch with you on Facebook via the CSR International Group, I became curious about what you do, which led me to your website. I like it very much – both its structure & content! Good luck in all you do!

Sophie Scott: I emailed you some time ago regarding your poetry, which I enjoyed very much, and now my attention has moved on to your artwork. I was really struck by your recent piece "art by numbers" and was wondering whether you would mind me using it on the front cover of my MSc project, which is about producing mathematics software for dyscalculic children.

Alastair McMillan: Great poem, captures some of the heart of a great continent, so sadly spoiled by the exploits of powerful people, from without and within. Nature is so wild and pure; If only people were. To me it says there has to be a much greater being than the muntu, you and I. When we are out of touch with our origins, the essence of our being, our creator, we mess it up big time. But whatever one's personal conviction, or lack thereof is, your poetry brings out a beautiful picture and message. Thank you for an inspiring poem and for sharing it with us all.

Doris Bole: hello, i am from australia, i was looking up on beautiful pictures and found yours with a poem,i was very impressed. i am not a poet writer but i write from my heart.

Leonor Salazar: Hi! friend, I´m a teacher of English in a  small town in a rural area of the Province of Buenos Aires, in Argentina. I have to say you that I really have an unforgettable  experience with small children when teaching and explaining them the abstract word "nationality" I started the class reading your lovely poem I am an African. Thank you very much to give me the opportunity of seeing how children feelings are the same all over the world and how much my pupils loved your poem!

Zuleka: I am contacting you on behalf of the National Association of Child Care Workers (NACCW) in South Africa. One of the activities of the NACCW is publishing a bi-monthly Journal that is distributed to members of the organisation.  In our journal for this month (May – June 2008) we would like to utilise the inspiring poem that you wrote “I am an African” – by printing it on the back cover of our journal.

Tshepi Motloung: I was reading some of  your work and I loved it so much.  What I liked mostly is that you are South African. We will be celebrating Africa day here at my work on this coming Friday part of it is that we will be performing songs, poetry and anything that we can think of.

Ana-Maria Turner: I often go onto your site for inspiration I really enjoy the way you put your words into writing and your prose on business. I really enjoy the fact that you get the business ethics across so well. Once again thank you for sharing your words and a part of yourself with us. By the way I found your web site while looking for a poem on Africa to share with two of my children . I wanted to remind them to be proud of their country and heritage as they are quite despondent with the situations in our country.

Isabelle Duquesne: Presently I teach a row of seminars on leadership competences. As part of the content, I compare human leadership with animal leadership patterns. While browsing the web on this topic, I came across your article. I was unaware of the leadership skills of elephants, the matriarchal system they organize themselves in, and the qualities they have. I would like to request permission to quote some of your comments . Naturally, I will refer to your work as I have now discovered on your personal webpage. I also intend to purchase your book of CSR.

Ana Claudia Menezes: I got in touch with your work while attending an African Night Party at the University for Peace (PEACE), in Costa Rica. Your poem "I weep for Africa" really touched my heart. I come from Brazil, a country with the largest African diaspora in the world - I guess. I write in this guestbook to say that Africa has no boundaries, it is part of ourselves, even if we have never been there.

Sophie: I stumbled upon your website yesterday and I had to write to you to tell you how much I have enjoyed browsing through it (it has huge putting-off-revision potential!) I used to write poetry when I was younger but the habit sort of dwindled... Having read some of yours and been really touched by it I have been inspired to start writing again, which is very therapeutic as I try to make sense of the end of a relationship. So thank you for the inspiration! I would also love to see more of your artwork and photography - is there more to come? [WV: Yes, lots to load as soon as I get a chance, so watch the space].

Patsy Gallant: I am an African - Love it. found your poem on a blog and followed the link to your webpage.
wonderful. keep writing.

Kathryn De Groot: I read your poems and think they are very inspirational.

Alta Guess: Your poem made such an impression on me, well done on writing a poem that symbolized the hart and soul of many Africans. A friend from Bloemfontein send me your poem…so it’s been appreciated by quite a few people. I just felt that if we all could feel like that how great Africa will be…

John Muthiora: I am a teacher of English in Strathmore School Nairobi Kenya. I came across your poems and was greatly inspired by their depth and relevance. I am currently in writing an English course book for Form Two students and would greatly appreciate if you could allow me to use the two poems quoted above in the book.

Lauren: I am writing to you because I really enjoy your love poems. I would like to purchase a simple text ad on this page for a trusted online dating company. Let me know if you are interested and we can get into more detail.

Margi McAlpine: I asked permission from you a couple of years ago to use some of your poetry on my website and at my angel workshops. You very graciously agreed and I have used “I am an African” whenever I do the Healing of Africa. I have also introduced your poetry to the Master Teachers when I attended their conference in Findhorn last year and the teachers reunion in Salisbury in the UK last year. The response to it is always amazing! One of the CD’s I am doing is “The Healing of Africa”. I would like to include the poem “I am an African” on the CD. Of course you would be credited and I would also put your website on the CD cover. Would you be happy for me to do that?

Melanie Mühlbauer: I write a skilled work at school about South Africa and I would like to have the poem "From Whence We Come" as part of my introduction.

Tanya Keyzer: Poems: Ek dink dit is brilliant.

R. Tierney: I am doing a poetry project on the theme of nature. I thought the poem 'Storm' was lovely

Cecilia Crowson: I am visiting South Africa for the first time ever in January and wanted to read around the subject particularly poetry and literature so came upon you entirely by chance, so there you are now up there with Coetzee and Lessing and Brink. Have enjoyed browsing.

Johan Genade: I was browsing on the net and read you resume - just one question: where do you find the time? Maybe another question : what do you do for fun?? [WV: I always try to remind myself that it’s about rhythm, not balance. So sometimes I pull out all the stops; other times, I’m quite unproductive. For fun? I like theatre, concerts, movies, walking in nature, watching quiz shows, reading, and writing poetry.]

Sibusiso Mbili: I love your work Sir. I am a B.Ed student at the University of KwaZulu Natal Pine Town Campus. I am doing Drama as my second major. I was reading your poems and I saw the poem title I am an African. I would like to recite it in front of the Drama students during my Practical exams. I was wondering if you could tell me the true meaning of this poem and what inspired you write this poem.

Chrissy: I am about to make a video on Africa and I was wondering if I could use a couple of your poems in it?

Sindy Makhaza: I Love You Mom is the best poem I've ever read. For us who are still lucky to have our Moms, we should really appreciate and thank them in every way we can. They did give us life. Thank you Wayne for such inspirational words.

Theodore the French man: Your website is very very interesting, I read your beautiful poem I am an African, I am not an English speaking person but I think I can appreciate with pleasure. I think, I hope, there are reasons to hope for South Africa and the rest of the continent.

Miss Angeh: One of the poems you wrote titled Grief, helped me through a lot of difficult times. In the recent events of people dear to me losing loved ones, I shared your poem with them. To see a loved one torn from death is a sad sight to see, so thank you for making it feel as if we aren't alone through difficult times.

Leona Kemraj: I stumbled onto your poetry by chance. But here I am reading them with total admiration. You have found a way to express yourself, something only a few experience. ... Maybe I'm just a romantic, but I really enjoyed Icarus.

Fiona: Your poetry ... is just what I needed to find today. WOW. Your words create feelings, bring back memories, and inspire me to get a move on with my own writing again. I don't know how I stumbled upon your website but it's in my list of favourites now for sure. I started writing poetry when my Dad passed away in 2002, and found it a therapeutic and creative way to express my innermost feelings. Without sounding vain, I know some of my poems are good enough to take me somewhere, and in your words I see so many reflections of my own mind patterns. KEEP WRITING!!!

Cecille Kinnear: I like the idea of love that floats.  I believe that hope floats. Have these poems been published? [WV: Not yet, still looking for a good publisher]

Ester: I haven't read something as beautiful as Love in a very long time.  Just by reading this "poem" made me feel whole again. If you have more please forward them to me.  I have printed it onto rice paper, and going to frame it for my bedroom.

Courtney Nussbaumer: I want to thank you for posting your writings on the internet. For my Honors English class we have to give a speech on any topic we choose. I chose dignity. While looking for sources, it was hard to find good insight on dignity- I'm glad I came upon yours.

Kgothatso Sekele: Good morning! I just wanted to let you know that this poem (To Live is To Create) is really beautiful. Not to mention that it’s short & sweet, straight to the point. I also love the lay out of it. It  really is true - I also believe that to live is to create.

Jules: WOW!  Another powerful poem, Wayne!  Any chance I could forward If This is War it to all my friends and relatives and hope that they can spread the message, eh!?

Richie Cloete: I've just finished reading some of your poems ... I'm currently studying acting, and you've been an amazing inspiration to me so far. I have performed one of your poems in class, called I am an African.

César López: I am a senior student at Puerto Rico and I chose your poem titled I am an African to analyze it in front of my English AP class. I am sending to you my analysis and my personal feedback on the poem in order for you to take it into consideration and inspire you to continue writing and creating beauty through poetry. Most of my classmates were impressed with your ability of expressing your national identity with such beautiful imagery. I am very glad I have this chance to send you my opinion and congratulate you on your excellent work.

Louise Coetzee: Thank you for the beautiful poetry. Maybe you just saved my life today.

Catherine Gargan: As a poetry enthusiast myself, I came across your site today and thought it could make a super programme for our programme on Summit TV entitled 'Business of the Arts'. Please can you let me know as I think it would make for fantastic viewing for our business audience!
